About
SAYOKO OSADA
Sayoko Osada is a Japanese-born, New York-based immersive artist and designer-director. Her work consists of space, performance, 3D, video, text, and storytelling.
Born in Tokyo, she immigrated to the United States at age 13. Lost in translation, she discovered the power of verbal and nonverbal languages, and studied Architecture at University of Cincinnati. With the multidisciplinary and multi-dimensional nature of her ideas, she creates genre-fluid worlds to explore and express the essence around identities, emotions, memories, and relationships.
With her belief that “an environment is worth a million words,” she founded her commercial and collaborative practice, specializing in worldbuilding through shows, stories, sets, and spaces. Grounded in concept, she sees the process itself as art, and collaborates with her teams to evolve and execute the vision for large-scale productions.
