Hello, I’m Sayoko.
I’ve dedicated my craft and career to multisensory worldbuilding and storytelling in the collaborative arts. “An environment with worth a million words” is a design principle deeply rooted in my formative years as an immigrant and playing in orchestras, where I developed my appreciation for nonverbal languages and symphonic creations.
Always grounded in working with ‘space’ as the core medium, I pursued my undergraduate studies in Architecture at the University of Cincinnati and my early career in New York’s advertising industry as an experiential art director and designer.
In 2018, I founded my practice SAYOKO OSADA STUDIO, offering design and direction, evolving focuses from spatial to films to animations, to now multimedia live / experiential.
As one of the few Asian female stage designers and part of the 0.1% of female founders in U.S. live entertainment, I am committed to pushing creative boundaries and amplifying diverse perspectives in the industry.
