BIO
Sayoko Osada is a multidisciplinary artist, director, and production designer, originally from Tokyo and based in New York. With her belief that “an environment is worth a million words,” she translates identities, emotions, and stories into spaces, scenes, and spectacles of varying scales to convey the ineffable.
Over a decade of working with notable music, brand, and cultural clients, she has directed and designed numerous live, experiential, spatial, and content productions. Clients include Nike, Coachella, Jimmy Kimmel, Charlie Puth, HYPEBEAST, Paperwater, Viktoria Modesta, and Beyoncé.
Her artistic practice is the experimental counterpart to her commerical work exploring the blend of theater, cinema, and club culture. Emerged through her involvement in the local music and art community, her work manifests collaboratively. In 2024, she began making visual art / VJ’ing (now as octrnl). In 2025, she formed an audiovisual performance collective Kira Kira with her collaborator Dasychira. In 2026, she’s working on her immersive theater piece.
