GORDO

Live
Creative Direction, Stage Design
2023-24

A body of work built alongside Gordo across Coachella and The Brooklyn Mirage, from 2023 to 2024 — developing the visual and spatial language of his emergence as a new artist identity, moving from the maximalism of his Carnage era into something anarchic, minimal, and rooted in club culture.

-

-
At Coachella 2023, drawing from Russian propaganda graphics and the sheer scale of the Sahara stage's screen architecture, we built a statement-driven visual performance that announced Gordo's arrival in his new name — bold, confrontational, impossible to ignore.

-
At The Brooklyn Mirage 2023, we began developing a show language that would carry across every subsequent show — anarchist in spirit, massive in scale, minimal and urban in form. Always putting Gordo amongst the audience. Always making it feel like a place, a club, not a stage.

-
For his 8-hour set in 2024, that language crystallized into "scaffolding city" — a tiered visual world that descends from open sky through x-ray structure down to underground rave, the stage designed as a horizontal soundship carrying Gordo and the crowd deeper underground together.

-
For Taraka at The Brooklyn Mirage 2024, an iteration of the same concept brought the scaffolding city into the built environment itself — tiering the physical structure around the DJ so the audience became part of the scenography.
